International Student Candidates

All international candidates desiring to enroll in the undergraduate programs of Bogazici University (B.U.) need to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). SAT is the only test accepted by the B.U. Senate amongst the international “university entrance examinations” approved by the Council of Higher Education, YÖK. SAT scores are valid for 2 years.

Applicants are required to present a minimum total score of 1250 out of the possible 1600 in “math” and “critical reading” tests, with a minimum score of 680 out of 800 in the “math” section.

The list of universities and the quotas for foreign applicants are announced on the web page of the Student Selection and Placement Center ,OSYM (http://www.osym.gov.tr). “Regulations on Accepting Students from Abroad”, as well as the criteria and the fees, can be found on the web page of YÖK: http://www.yok.gov.tr/content/view/35/71/.

Candidates, who fulfil the application requirements, must

have non-Turkish nationalities
a) b) have completed their high-school education in a foreign country (other than Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, TRNC) if they have Turkish or TRNC nationalities.

Applications of the following candidates will not be taken into consideration:

1) Applicants with Turkish, TRNC or double nationalities if one of these nationalities is Turkish or TRNC (except for those who have completed their high-school education in a foreign country other than TRNC)

2) Applicants who previously had double nationalities, but have abandoned their Turkish or TRNC nationalities and have completed their high-school education either in Turkey or in TRNC.

3) Applicants with Turkish nationality who have completed their high-school education in TRNC.

Information on Application
All  criteria and quotas regarding application procedures are announced on the University web site (http://www.boun.edu.tr) prior to application period. All international candidates who fulfill the requirements must apply to the Office of the Registrar on the specified dates in July, shown on the Academic Calendar. Candidates who wish to apply by post must have all their documents reach the Office of the Registrar before the last day of applications.
